Please note that the ScotEID BTV recording tool requires the full individual electronic tag number to successfully register Bluetongue Virus (BTV-3) vaccinations.
If you are vaccinating slaughter lambs with a slaughter/batch tag, you cannot record these using just the flock mark. To record these vaccinations, please follow one of the options below:
- Use an EID Reader: Read the full electronic tag ID using an EID reader to extract the complete 12-digit number for upload - you can then upload a file containing the EID tags.
- Order Formatted Batch Tags: Contact your tag supplier to request batch tags with the individual number in a legislatively compatible format. Your supplier can provide tags either printed with a letter or symbol separating the flock mark and individual number or printed with the leading zeros removed from 5-digit individual numbers with a letter or symbol separating the flock mark and number. Note some of the tag suppliers offer this option on their website whilst others offer this option over the phone.
Once you have the number, you can then add the vaccination details to the ScotEID BTV recording page. Please check with your chosen tag supplier that this is an option that they offer.
